SWAN Consultant

Tabor Children’s Services (TCS) is looking for professionals committed to helping children find loving and supportive families. Tabor is looking for consultants to serve in our SWAN (Statewide Adoption Network) program to provide services to children and families throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. TCS currently provides the following SWAN units of service: Child and Family Profiles, Child Preparations, and Finalizations. TCS is especially interested in pursuing opportunities to provide Child Specific Recruitment to children in need of adoption resources.

As a TCS Consultant, you will build trusting relationships with children and families to tell positive, supportive, respectful stories of their lives throughout their quest for permanency. TCS Consultants will assure that services to children and families are individualized, strengths and needs based, culturally sensitive, responsive, and goal driven. TCS Consultants will assure compliance with SWAN guidelines regarding the timeliness of services.

TCS Consultants should have at least one year of supervised experience with children and/or families. Experience with SWAN units of service, childhood trauma, adoption and foster care are preferred. TCS Consultants must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in human services or related field, ACT 33/34 clearances, FBI finger printing, valid state driver’s license and insured vehicle. A minimum of 1-2 years providing counseling or casework services to families is preferred. Liability insurance is required. This position requires local travel, flexibility to work a nontraditional schedule, a commitment to a least 5 hours per week to work on services.
