Final All Staff Meeting of the Year
Tabor just had their final All Staff meeting of the year and it was such a special event! This wasn’t a typical meeting. Tabor employees gathered Wednesday morning at Presidential Caterers not knowing exactly what was in store for them. We started with a breakfast spread while employees milled around and found their seats, taking time to acquaint themselves with their tablemates, many of whom have never had the chance to talk, or even meet, before. Karen Coleman started the morning off with some necessary business, as well as informing us of some updates to the Philly office!
Following Karen, we heard from Marvin Johnson, the head of the board, who extended a thank you from the board, showing their appreciation for all of the hard work Tabor does (see attached video for a clip of Marvin talking). Following Marvin, Karen Coleman welcomed up Shenise Henderson, Tabor’s wellness coach. to lead the Tabor team in some mindful activities. Shenise talked to us about Secondary Traumatic Stress and the dangers of toxic positivity. With Shenise guiding us, the Tabor employees took a moment to practice meditation followed by breathing and movement exercises. She instructed the staff to “Be here now... Let it go.”
Following the speeches, Lisa Bennett, Tabor’s COO, hosted Tabor Trivia in which an employee from each office, Ismael Bailey (Philadelphia), Peggy Schmidt (Doylestown), and Jennifer Gaffney (Chester). They were tested on Tabor Trivia as well as a bit of sports trivia, and it resulted in a score of 3-1-1.
Right before braking for a delicious lunch, we were treated to a surprise performance by a magician. And based on the reactions from the crowd... I think it’s fair to say he wowed us all. His mind reading, slight of hand, and clever commentary absolutely cemented this All Staff Meeting as one we’ll all remember.
Thank you to everyone who put time and effort into bringing this all together and thank you to everyone who was able to attend! You are all truly appreciated!
